The day we all wish for on the ice as little kids is upon us, but I have bad news for our plethora of writers here at Canucks Army, I don’t foresee any of them getting picked up this evening. Maybe tomorrow guys!

However, they are qualified to tell us who they think goes #1 to presumably the New Jersey Devils, and also who the Canucks snatch up at #5.

With that in mind, here’s what they said!

Nico goes #1 and I think the Canucks are taking Cody Glass if he’s available. If he’s not and the first defenseman on their list is gone as well, I think they’re going with Elias Pettersson.

I said Nico last week and I stick by it, particularly if New Jersey holds onto the pick (pretty certain they will). As for who the Canucks will take, I suspect (and hope), as Vanessa does, that it will be Cody Glass. However, that obviously comes with the caveat that he’s still available. Based on what Benning has said publicly, they will likely go for a playmaking centre. So that would either mean Casey Mittelstadt or Elias Pettersson. Benning has his eye on a centre, and he will walk away from Chicago with one in the top 5 picks.

Patrick goes first and after everything I’ve heard I believe Mr. Cody Glass goes to Vancouver

I think Nico Hischier is going to go first overall, but that’s based almost entirely on a hunch. Speaking of hunches, I’m starting to think the Canucks are going to take Swedish defenceman Timothy Liljegren.

If the Devils are picking first overall, it’s going to be Hischier. If Vilardi ends up falling to the Canucks, I think they take him. Outside of that, probably Cody Glass

I also agree that the Devils take Hischier, it seems like that’s where they want to go. I think they take Glass.
