Canucks Army Game Day 11 – Canucks @ Coyotes (FedEx Overnight Edition)
By Always90four
5 years agoTHE INTRO
Although the flight to Arizona is a quick one, the flight from Utica is a bit longer. Vancouver comes to Arizona to take on a Coyotes team that is already challenging for the brother of Quinn Hughes. The Canucks will be in tough after losing what felt like half the roster last night to Vegas. Bo Horvat will be riding high still and another big game from the future Captain will make life a little easier. Oh, and Elias Pettersson could be back!

Chris Tanev (questionable), Alex Edler (also questionable), Sven Baertschi (concussion protocol). This is what we know.
Brock Boeser could return tonight, Michael Del Zotto returns to the lineup and we all hope he remembers how to hockey, Elias Pettersson might come back as well. Alex Biega was recalled last night from Utica. As long as no one gets hurt on the plane after the big win, this should be it.
Anders Nilsson should start after Jacob Markstrom went the distance and then some last night in Vegas for the win.

INFORMATION YOU NEED AND SOME THAT YOU DON’T
- Pretty cool. Not Canucks related aside from the fact they’re playing Arizona but just goes to show hockey is a pretty cool sport.
- Bo Horvat took his game, yet again, to another level last night with his two-goal performance, his hustle and the epic back check in OT. The game on Saturday would be a great time to stitch that “C” on his jersey.
- Arizona kept pretty much everyone in Vancouver off the score sheet last season except for Daniel Sedin. Jake Virtanen, Darren Archibald, and Jussi Jokinen were the only other Canucks not named Daniel that scored against the Coyotes last season. For the record, they each scored one lonely goal. Vancouver didn’t score on the PP but Archibald did have a shorthanded goal. Way to set the bar low, fellas!
- The Canucks are currently in first in the Pacific Division with 12 points. It’s a great time to be alive. If Vancouver can slug it out with Arizona and sneak away with a win, the hype surrounding the team’s return against the Penguins on Saturday will be legendary. Tonight, 60 minutes is all we ask.
- Loui Eriksson once again had himself a pretty good night last night including an assist on one of Bo’s goals. His CF% of 65.22 only trailed Brendan Leipsic as Edler was only on the ice for one shot for before going down.
MY 94 CENTS
Seriously, how many more injuries can the Canucks accumulate in a week? This is getting ridiculous but then again, you almost can half-expect something like this to happen for Vancouver. All bets are off for this matchup, even the lowly Coyotes have a good shot in this one.
