Canucks announce development camp roster

With the 2019 NHL Entry Draft in the rearview mirror, the organization turns its attention to development camp this week. The schedule had been previously announced, but is as follows:
Tuesday, June 25th
9:15 am – 10:05 am – Forwards on-ice practice
10:20 am – 11:05 am – Forwards and defenceman on-ice practice
11:20 am – 12:15 pm – Defenceman on-ice practice
Wednesday, June 26th
9:15 am – 10:05 am – Defencemen on-ice practice
10:20 am – 11:05 am – Forwards and defenceman on-ice practice
11:20 am – 12:15 pm – Forwards on-ice practice
Thursday, June 27th
9:15 am – 10:05 am – Forwards on-ice practice
10:20 am – 11:05 am – Forwards and defenceman on-ice practice
11:20 am – 12:15 pm – Defenceman on-ice practice
All practices are open to the public at UBC Father Bauer Arena.
What was revealed today was the full roster, which was included in the story on Canucks.com from Derek Jory and it is as follows:
4 – Goaltenders: Arturs Silovs, Matthew Thiessen, Michael DiPietro & Jake Kielly.8 – Defencemen: Brogan Rafferty, Ethan Frisch, Jett Woo, Josh Teves, Lucas Peric, Mitch Eliot, Paul DeNaples, Toni Utunen.14 – Frowards: Adrian Elefalk, Aidan McDonough, Carson Focht, Darien Craighead, Ethan Keppen, Henry Bowlby, Jack Malone, Karel Plasek, Keegan Stevenson, Liam Finlay, Linus Karlsson, Nils Hoglander, Tyler Madden & Will Lockwood.
There are eight invites to camp and seven of the nine players drafted by the Canucks over the weekend will attend. The players that were drafted that won’t be part of the camp are Vasili Podkolzin and Arvid Costmar.
Podkolzin would’ve had to receive permission from his KHL club to attend the Canucks camp and GM Jim Benning said that it would’ve been a tight schedule to make it happen. Unsure which is it but Costmar had been battling injuries in the second half of the season, so that may be part of the reason or that simply coming from Sweden with only one day notice was not possible.
The camp lacks the same punch as previous years with players like Quinn Hughes, Elias Pettersson, and Adam Gaudette graduating to the NHL but there are still some intriguing names to follow at this year’s camp.
