Canucks announce 2019 Development Camp and Prospect Training Camp

With the just over three weeks away, the news will be fast and furious as the organization prepares for what should be a huge off-season.
One of the first things to be taken care of this morning as the Canucks released information on development camp.
Usually, the Canucks had their camp in the first week of July but given that they are hosting the draft, it makes sense to just roll right into the development camp prior to free agency.
The entire camp will take place at UBC Father Bauer Arena and is open to the public to attend. The full schedule can be found below:

At this time, it does not appear that there will be a ‘showcase’ game like there was last season.
The roster will be made up of players that the Canucks have selected in the NHL Entry Draft and then some free agents from the various development avenues.
It’s also worth noting that within the release there is mention about the Canucks Prospect Training Camp in September:
The Canucks also confirmed today that Prospect Training Camp will take place at Rogers Arena from September 7-10th. Approximately 25 Canucks prospects are expected to attend and will participate in on-ice training sessions over four days. No games or scrimmages against other NHL teams are planned. More details for Prospect Training Camp will be announced at a later date.
Which is interesting given that it was reported last month that they would be playing against the Oilers and Flames prospects in Alberta. The point about it Canucks prospects and no scrimmages leads me to believe that they aren’t making the trek to Alberta to limit the possibility of injury and general wear and tear on these players heading into main training camp
Given the organization’s injury issues over the last couple of years, you can’t blame them for trying to make positive strides there.
