Blackfish – CanucksArmy Prospect Report – November 24th

alt
A day late but not a buck short!
Elias Pettersson continues to go off, while Juolevi had a good game earlier this morning. One prospect is battling strep throat, while another prospect continues to rebound after returning from a wrist injury. The Comets have struggled quite a bit recently with the injuries with the big club and their own.
With all that being said – there is still excitement to be found so with that – let’s dive into everyone’s favourite prospect report!
All the images of stats are from Elite Prospects.

  • Unfortunately – Kole Lind hasn’t played a game this last Thursday as he battles Strep Throat. He was supposed to appear at the LEC against the Giants on the 18th and 24th (later tonight) but will have missed both games. He should be back soon enough.
  • Jakub Stukel hit a roadblock this week – posting zero points in three contests.

Ontario Hockey League

alt
  • Jonah Gadjovich is back! Assuming his first line spot with Nick Suzuki, in four games this week – he had three goals and three assists. He’s back to doing what he does, planting himself in the front of the net and causing havoc.
  • Cole Candella was limited to one assist in four games with the Sudbury Wolves. Although a disappointing week, he’s had a really good season so far with the Wolves leaning heavily on him.
  • Brett McKenzie is slowly getting his feet under him – he had one goal and four assists in four games. Curious to see if he is a tradechip for the Battalion in the coming weeks.
  • Matt Brassard had himself a decent week with two assists in three games.

  • Two losses for DiPietro this past week as Windsor continues to struggle

NCAA

alt
  • Adam Gauddete with zero points this past week – is he a bust? (joke)
  • The little spitfire, William Lockwood, with two assists in two games for the University of Michigan – expect to hear him invited to the World Juniors evaluation camp for the US in the coming weeks.

USHS

  • Rathbone played an exhibition game this past weekend – but it appears that there is no boxscore available. Dexter School plays another exhibition game, against St. Andrews, this Sunday and then the regular season begins on Wednesday.

EUROPE

Sweden

alt
  • That Elias Pettersson kid is decent – he had three goals and four assists in three SHL games this past week. He is currently on a five-game point streak, has point in nine of last ten games, and 12 of last 14 games. He is currently second in the SHL in scoring and leads all U20 scorers in the SHL by 18 points. Let that sink in for a second. He has 27 points, and the second place U20 player has 9 (Rasmus Dahlin).
  • No points for Rodrigo Abols and Kristoffer Gunnarsson – both played three games.
alt
  • Jonathan Dahlen continues to play well and leaned upon heavily by Timra – he is a mainstay on their top line and PP unit. He has been seeing some PK time as well. He ends the week with one goal and three assists in two games.

Finland

alt
  • Petrus Palmu didn’t put up any points this past week – but he is still a mainstay on the second line and powerplay units. His play is good overall as he rounds out his game.
  • Olli Juolevi continues to put up points – he had one goal and three assists in four games, including three assists earlier today.

Russia

alt
  • Nikita Tryamkin had zero points in the three games.
  • Dmitry Zhukenov continues to not be in the KHL lineup.

Czech Republic

alt
  • Lukas Jasek with one assist in four games – he has been seeing regular time in the top 6.

AHL

alt
  • Since our last update the Comets have recalled Anton Cederholm and McKenze Stewart from the Kalamazoo Wings
  • Joe Faust and Brian Ward have been signed to PTO’s over the past couple days.
  • Philip Holm remains with the Canucks.
  • The Comets have struggled quite a bit recently – at this moment Evan McEneny, Darren Archibald, and Ashton Sautner are injured and the team is certainly feeling it.
