Blackfish: CanucksArmy Prospect Report – November 16th, 2017

alt
I’ve been thinking about just changing the name of Blackfish to the “Elias Pettersson Prospect Report: and some other guys”. He’s been that good. But that wouldn’t do justice to some of the other players that have been tearing it up. Kole Lind continues to impress, Jonah Gadjovich returned from injury, and Olli Juolevi has been getting better with each passing game in Finland.
The Utica Comets have struggled out of the gate but there are some players having some impressive campaigns.
Without further ado – let’s dive into everyone’s favourite prospect report!
All the images of stats are from Elite Prospects.

CANADIAN HOCKEY LEAGUE

Western Hockey League

alt
  • Since our last update – Kold Lind put up 2 goals and 3 assists. He is currently on a 7 game point streak and has points in 17 of 20 games this season. He is making a case for himself to make the World Juniors.
  • After a slow start to the year, Stukel continues to put up points – he had four goals in four game this past week for the Calgary Hitmen

Ontario Hockey League

alt
  • Cole Candella slows down a bit with 1 assist in three games this past week.
  • Jonah Gadjovich returns from injury and promptly posts two goals in his first game back. He was held point in the other Owen Sound game on the weekend but he did get 18 shots over those two games. He appeared for Team OHL in the Canada/Russia Series on Monday, but was held without a point.
  • Two goals for Brett McKenzie this past week.
  • Matt Brassard was held pointless in two games this past week.

  • Michael DiPietro went 1-1-0 with Windsor this week and picked up the win for Team OHL in the Canada/Russia Series.

NCAA

alt
  • Two goals and two assists for Gaudette this past week – he is currently tied for third in points in the NCAA.
  • William Lockwood picks up one goal and one assist in two games for University of Michigan. He is slowly picking up steam as it appears he is fully recovered from his shoulder injury.

USHS

  • Figured I would add Jack Rathbone to the report as his school plays an exhibition game this weekend against Delbarton

EUROPE

Sweden

alt
  • Two more games for Elias Pettersson and three more points. He picked up on assist in one game and then followed that up with two goals earlier today. He has matched William Nylander’s production in their D+1 season and in four less games. Pettersson is 6 months older than Nylander was at the time, but still an impressive feat.
  • No points for Rodrigo Abols and Kristoffer Gunnarsson
alt
  • Two games for Dahlen – 2 goals and 2 assists. Dahen is playing with confidence and is the best player on the ice with regularity.

Finland

alt
  • Petrus Palmu puts up one assist in TPS’s only contest this past week.
  • Olli Juolevi with one goal and one assist in one game.

Russia

alt
  • Nikita Tryamkin with two points in two games for Avtomobilist
  • Dmitry Zhukenov with no appearances.

Czech Republic

alt
  • Lukas Jasek with no points since our last update

AHL

alt
  • Since we last talked – Brendan Woods was signed to an AHL deal.
  • Thatcher Demko and Reid Boucher were reassigned to the Comets from the Canucks, and Michael Garteig was sent back to the ECHL.
