We missed a week due to some needed shredding of the gnar in Whistler. But we are back with your favourite prospect report.
It’s been an eventful couple of weeks with Canucks prospects setting records and making waves all over North America.
With the Canucks now on their long break, all eyes will turn to the prospects when Elias Pettersson isn’t doing his All-Star thing.
Let’s dive in!

Canada

WHL

  • In the seven games over the past two weeks, Jett Woo collected three goals and three assists which includes a point-per-game pace on their road trip through B.C.

OHL

  • Mitch Eliot has taken the lead in terms of OHL prospect scoring within the organization. He had two goals and two assists over the past five games.
  • Matt Brassard has been doing well with his new team – he’s now up to one goal and six assists in six games with Niagara.
  • Michael DiPietro recorded his 17th career OHL shutout and thus has taken over the record in that category in the O. Now they focus on getting ready for playoffs.

United States

USHL

  • Matt Thiessen continues to tread water around the 3.00 GAA and 0.890 mark. With that being said, he is ranked 9th in GAA and 14th in SV%, which is basically the middle of the pack.

NCAA

  • Quinn Hughes picked up two assists in his first two games back with Michigan. The Wolverines play tonight against Penn State and then again on Saturday night, but this time at MSG. There are 11 games remaining in their regular season schedule.
  • Tyler Madden continues to make waves after returning from the World Juniors. Over the past two weekends, he has two goals and three assists in four games. He made the highlight reel with his goal and kayak celebration this past weekend.
  • William Lockwood scored two goals in the two games over the past two weeks.
  • Jack Rathbone was able to pick up an assist this past weekend but that his only point over the last four games.

Europe

Russia

  • Five more games and zero points for Manukyan – when he is in the lineup, he is playing a fourth line role.
  • Nikita Tryamkin picked up one goal and one assist in the five games over the past two weeks.

Finland

  • Petrus Palmu has slowed down a bit recently with only one assist in the four games over the last fourteen days.
  • Toni Utunen picked up his first-ever Liiga goal:

Sweden

  • Kristoffer Gunnarsson didn’t pick up any points his five games the past two weeks.

Czech Republic

  • Zhukenov is back in the VHL

AHL

  • All the moves below have occured between January 10th and today.
  • Adam Gaudette was returned to the Comets on Jan 13
  • They signed Michael Leighton to a PTO and released Alx Sakellaropoulos
  • Tanner Kero was recalled and reassigned back to the Comets once Pettersson returned.
  • Jagger Dirk was sent down to the Kalamazoo Wings
  • Craig Wyszomirski was released from his PTO
  • Thatcher Demko and Alex Biega remain up with the Canucks.

ECHL

  • At this moment, the Canucks have no prospects in the ECHL.
