With the lead up to the trading deadline, we skipped a week, but we are back and now with more Canucks prospects!
The Canucks made some moves at the deadline that added to the prospect pool, the NCAA season is winding down, and the Utica Comets look to make a charge for the playoffs.
Lastly, the CHL playoffs are rapidly approaching with many Canucks prospects hoping to have long runs.
There is excitement to be had!

  • Adam Gaudette continues his torrid pace – this time with four goals and two assists in four Northeastern games. He is currently tied for 6th in NCAA scoring. He does lead the nation in PPG (15) and shots (15).
  • Brock Boeser is slowly rounding back into form – he had 2 goals and three assists in four games for UND. When watching Boeser over January and early February, he just didn’t look fully recovered from the wrist surgery, but the last few weeks, he has looked more and more like the Boeser of old. So, his previous struggles are less of a concern given the likelihood he wasn’t 100%. His release his back, which is evident in one of his goals this past week:
  • William Lockwood appeared in one game and was held pointless.

  • I spy a new prospect! Jonathan Dahlen makes his Blackfish debut after the Canucks acquired him this past week. Where do we begin?
  • Dahlen was named the Guldgallret (golden cage) winner, which is awarded to the best junior player in the Allsvenskan. With his goal yesterday, he took over the the title as most goals by a U20 player in the history of the Allsvenskan. He had a streak broken on February 27th, where he was part of 13 straight goals for Timra. He was held pointless on Feb 27th, and then followed that up yesterday with one goal and one assist.
  • Jasek had 2 goals and three assists in 7 playoff games.
  • Anton Cederholm with one goal and one assist in two games for AIK.

  • Alexandre Grenier, Joseph Labate, Jordan Subban were recalled and re-assigned since our last update due to Mumps.
  • Brendan Gaunce and Richard Bachman were assigned to Utica and then recalled to ensure they were eligible for the AHL Clear Day roster.
  • Newly acquired Nikolay Goldobin is technically on the Utica Comets right now, as they work through his immigration/visa issues. But he will be recalled as soon as that is fixed, thus he is not listed here.
  • Jeremy Davis will have a more in depth look at the Comets week soon.
