Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!
The worst kept secret in sports has finally come to fruition. Rick Tocchet has replaced the beloved Bruce Boudreau as head coach of the Vancouver Canucks.
The new Canucks bench boss will start his tenure against the Chicago Blackhawks. Here are three bets I like for tonight’s game.
Player Prop
Bo Horvat to register over 2.5 shots at -134. My $10 bet would return $17.50.
Horvat has been regressing to the mean recently, scoring only two goal in his last eight games. I’m expecting a rebound game from him here against a weaker opponent.
Special Teams
Vancouver to score a powerplay goal at -134. My $10 bet would return $17.50.
One of the few bright spots on the team this season has been the powerplay thus PP coach Jason King was retained by the new staff. I like them to get one tonight against the 24th ranked PK in Chicago.
Parlay
Canucks to win money-line and Elias Pettersson to register a point at -143. My $10 bet would return $17.00.
Ah the good ol new coach bump, it’s almost like the Canucks scripted this change with their quality of schedule taking a complete 180 and getting much easier… I like the Canucks tonight for obvious reasons and Pettersson has a point in seven of his last nine games.
Last Game Bets
Connor McDavid to register over 3.5 shots at -150. My $10 bet would return $16.66.- HIT
Leon Draisaitl to register a power play point at -182. My $10 bet would return $15.50. – MISSED
Bo Horvat to score anytime at +130. My $10 bet would return $23. – MISSED
A tough night, the Draisaitl one hurt us as Edmonton only had one powerplay. We staked $30 and returned $16.66, we are now up $65.03 on the year.
