Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting site Betway!
The Canucks started their eastern conference road trip with a bang, beating the Ottawa Senators 6-4. Vancouver was outplayed for the first two periods, but a strong goaltending performance from Spencer Martin kept the club in the game and they ultimately got the job done in the third period.
Vancouver is set to play on back-to-back nights, this time at the Bell Centre in Montreal. Here are three bets to look for in tonight’s all-Canadian matchup.
Easy Money
Bo Horvat to register over 2.5 shots at -175. My $10 bet would return $15.71.
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Horvat now has 26 shots in his last 5 games (5.2 per game) and is now alone at second for goals in the NHL, behind only Connor McDavid. We’re gonna keep hammering this one until it misses.
Player Prop
Cole Caufield to register over 3.5 shots at -118. My $10 bet would return $18.50.
Caufield, drafted 5 spots later than Vasily Podkolzin in the 2019 draft, has been on fire since the coaching change in Montreal. The 21-year-old is tied for 8th in the NHL in goals. He has 21 shots in last 4 games (5.25 per game) I like his over 3.5 tonight.
Special Teams
Elias Pettersson to register a PowerPlay point at +140. My $10 bet would return $24.00.
Montreal takes the most penalties in the entire NHL, meaning Vancouver’s 5th ranked PP in the league may have numerous opportunities to find the back of the net. I like EP40 here to score his first PP goal of the season.
Last Game Bets
Bo Horvat to register over 2.5 shots at -150. My $10 bet would return $16.66. – HIT
The Vancouver Canucks to score a powerplay goal at -150. My $10 bet would return $16.66. – MISSED
The game to finish with over 6.5 goals at -134.  My $10 bet would return $17.50. – HIT
The Canucks second unit scored a goal a mere 5 second after a Brady Tkachuk penalty expired, meaning we were 5 seconds away from 3-0. Ultimately we still had a night of slight profit staking $30 and returning $34.18. We are now down $5.48 on the year.
