The age old saying is you’re never out of a series until you lose a game on home ice. Many Oilers fans thought with the series shifting to Edmonton, this series was just getting started. But three goals in a six minute stretch for the Panthers in the second period of game three led the money-line underdog Panthers to a 4-3 win. More importantly, a now commanding 3-0 lead in the Cup Final.

Edmonton will need more from their star forward Leon Draisaitl, who has yet to register a point in these finals. Draisaitl is a notorious playoff riser and not getting production from him has really hampered the Oilers in this series.

Today’s expected goaltender matchups for our highlighted game:

The Florida Panthers’ Sergei Bobrovsky (36-17-4) vs. The Edmonton Oilers’ Stuart Skinner (36-15-2).

Verhaeghe was a shot generating menace in the early part of the playoffs, but has slowed down on that front, generating three or more shots in only one of his last five games. Because of this, his shot line has moved from 3.5 to 2.5.

Verhaeghe had two shots early in game three, but as Florida went into protect mode, score effects hindered his ability to keep peppering Oilers goalie Stuart Skinner. I like him tonight in a game where I can see Edmonton leading early.

Matthew Tkachuk lifting the cup in Edmonton would go down as an all timer. The former Calgary Flame was a thorn in the side to the Oilers and their fans for years, his last memory in Calgary was watching Connor McDavid ice the Flames’ season in their own barn in game 5 overtime.

Beautiful redemption for Tkachuk would be to end the Oilers’ season and hoist the cup in their building here in game four. Tkachuk made a fantastic play on Sam Bennett’s second period goal to earn his first point of the series and I like him to get another one tonight.

Florida is the best shot generating team in the league. I feel like they’re getting majorly underrated here because of games with score effects. If Edmonton takes the lead or it’s a close game, I expect the Panthers to get past this number with ease.

Florida to score a power-play goal at -125. My $10 bet would return $18. – MISSED

Sam Reinhart over 2.5 at -150. My $12.50 bet would return $20.80. – MISSED

The playoffs from hell continue, Reinhart had two shots in the first period and Panthers only got one power-play.
