Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!
Despite rampant trade speculation, the trade deadline came and went and all of Vancouver’s core players still remain part of the team, and will finish the season in Vancouver.
The Canucks played hard in Thursday night’s battle against the Minnesota Wild, but a two goal effort from Kirill Kaprizov led the Wild to a 2-1 win. Next up for the Canucks is Canada’s best team in the Toronto Maple Leafs. Here are three bets I like for tonight’s game.
Player Prop
Mitch Marner to register over 2.5 shots at -125. My $10 bet would return $18.00.
Marner was buzzing in Toronto’s win over Calgary on Thursday tallying eight shots on net. Marner has hit his over 2.5 shots in three of his last four games and with the way he’s trending I like him to do it again today.
Special Teams
Auston Matthews to score a power play point at +140. My $10 bet would return $24.
Matthews has had a relatively quiet year to his lofty standards, but remains as one of the most dangerous triggerman in hockey. I like the reigning Hart Trophy winner to tally one on the powerplay against the leagues worst penalty kill in Vancouver.
Over//Under
The game to end with over 6.5 goals at -134. My $10 bet would return $17.50.
Two high octane offensive teams, both Toronto and Vancouver are top 10 league wide in goals scored. With both teams coming off a low event 2-1 games I expected both teams to explode offensively tonight.
Last Game Bets
Kirill Kaprizov to register over 3.5 shots at -150. My $10 bet would return $16.66.  – HIT
Minnesota to score a power play goal at -125. My $10 bet would return $18. – MISSED
Minnesota to win the money line and Elias Pettersson to register a point at -105. My $10 bet would return $19.52. – MISSED
We staked $30 and returned $16.66, we are still up $128.52 on the year.
