Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!
The NHL schedule makers have some explaining to do. After a busy 12 game night on the NHL slate we’re left with only two games for Friday. In Columbus, Johny Gaudreau will battle his former team, the Calgary Flames, as his Blue Jackets look to get back to .500 on the year.
Former Canuck Bo Horvat and the New York Islanders will look to remain undefeated as they face the New Jersey Devils. Here are three bets I like for tonight’s games.
If you told me back in his San Jose days Timo Meier would ever have a shot line of 2.5 I would have told you to bet the house on it. Meier finished sixth in the league in shots last season, averaging 4.6 per game. Despite a slow start in the shot column this year there’s no way we’re not jumping all over this line.
Noah Dobson to register over 2.5 shots at -110. My $10 bet would return $19.09.
Dobson has tallied seven shots in two games this season for the Islanders which is an average of 3.5 per game. At pretty much even money I like this bet a lot, we will risk .8 units on it.
Patrik Laine to score anytime at +162. My $6.75 bet would return $17.68.
Just not a lot of value I like in this game. Most of Calgary’s shooter’s lines have moved to 3.5, which I wouldn’t touch. Going to sprinkle half a unit on Laine to score.
Last Game Bets
Elias Pettersson to register over 2.5 shots at -163. My $12.50 bet would return $20.19. – HIT
Steven Stamkos to register over 2.5 shots at -150. My $12.50 bet would return $20.83. – HIT
Over 6.5 goals scored in the match at -140. My $10 bet would return $17.14. – HIT
Cale Makar to register over 2.5 shots at -175. My $12.50 bet would return $19.64. – MISSED
Makar sold the perfect day, was really debating between him and Mackinnon, but that’s on me. We staked $47.50 and returned $58.15, we are now up $19.68 (1.5 units) on the year.
