Betway Bets of the Day: Bet on the Minnesota Wild power play against the league-worst Canucks penalty kill

Lost in rampant trade speculation ahead of Friday’s deadline is that the Vancouver Canucks play today. The Canucks are coming off a 5-4 overtime win over the Dallas Stars, where anti-tank commander Andrei Kuzmenko scored the OT winner.

Vancouver now returns home for a six game homestand starting with a matchup against former division rivals the Minnesota Wild. Here are three bets I like for tonight’s game.

Kaprizov has been on a rampage recently and with the Wild jockeying for playoff positioning in the Western conference standings, Kaprizov has seen an uptick in his minutes.

In his past two games, Kaprizov has played 25 minutes a night and tallied 14 shots in that span, which is an average of seven shots per game. If his ice time continues to increase, this should be the lock of the day.

Minnesota to score a power play goal at -125. My $10 bet would return $18.

The Wild possess the 7th-ranked power play league-wide. They may not score a lot of goals, but they’re potent with the man advantage. Getting them at these odds against the Canucks’ league-worst penalty kill is a no-brainer.

Minnesota to win the money line and Elias Pettersson to register a point at -105. My $10 bet would return $19.52.

Although Vancouver has been hot recently, winning with the current defensive unit they’re playing with isn’t sustainable, I like the Wild tonight. Add in Pettersson who has points in nine of his last 11 games and you get the Wild at essentially pick em’ odds.
