Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!
NHL’s Frozen Frenzy, where every team played on Tuesday night, was a massive success, as the league was the talk of the sports landscape in North America. The schedule makers have followed up that eventful night with just one game on Wednesday as the Devils host the Capitals.
Devils star Jack Hughes has absolutely torched the league this season, scoring 14 points in just five games. For Washington, Alex Ovechkin finally scored his first of the season Tuesday night and was a shot shy of tying his career-high tallying 14 against the Leafs on Tuesday.
Here are three bets I like for tonight’s game.
Hamilton is always among the league leaders in shot generation from defenders, and that hasn’t changed this season. Hamilton has tallied 12 shots in his last two games, which is an average of six per game. His over is usually a safe bet thus this will be my only full unit play of the night.
Jack Hughes to register a power-play point at point at +135. my $10 bet would return $23.50.
Hughes has been scorching hot with the extra man this season, scoring eight power-play points in just five games. Hughes has scored a power-play point in every game this season. We will risk .8 units here to win over 1U, I like this a lot.
Timo Meier to score anytime at +187. My $6.75 bet would return $19.40.
Most of our bets are backed by statistical trends but sometimes you just have to rely on gut feel, Meier has been extremely quiet this season and has yet to score despite playing on a line with Jack Hughes. I think tonight is the night he finally pots one, we will risk .5 units on this play.
Last Game Bets
Fillip Forsberg to register over 3.5 shots at -118. My $12.50 bet would return $23.12. – HIT
The Vancouver Canucks to score a power-play goal at -134. My $12.50 bet would return $21.87. – MISSED
Quinn Hughes to register over 2.5 sh0ts at +130. My $10 bet would return $23. – HIT
Brady Tkachuk to register over 3.5 shots at -143. My $10 bet would return $17. – HIT
Again one off a perfect night, Vancouver got just over a minute of power-play time all night. We staked $45 and returned $63.12, we are now up $50.24 (4.1 units) on the year.
