It happened. The news that most had been dreading for the past few seasons happened. Monday morning, Daniel and Henrik Sedin officially announced their decision to retire. Emotional would be an understatement, but lets look back at some of their best moments as a Canuck, whether it be on the ice, in the community, or just hanging out.

32. When the twins were a part of GoPro’s NHL After Dark series, which can be found here and here.

28. When the twins, along with Mattias Ohlund and a young Alex Edler, strut their stuff en route to a game:

27. When they did the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge:
26. This hilarious clip which still amazes me that they happened to do the exact same thing at the exact same time:
25. When they took a picture with Drake:

24. When Henrik scored a one-handed goal while falling down and having two Flames players heckling him:

17. Seeing everyone weigh in on their careers:

Mark Giordano: “On the ice, real true professionals. Really tough to play against, really used each other and were such a dominating duo for so many years in the league. They were competitors, hard to play against, but always carried themselves the right way.”
Henrik Lundqvist: “I think nobody (in Sweden) had seen the way they play before. At least when I grew up, I had never seen that before, two guys hold on to the puck the way they did and dominate games the way they did. They just took the Swedish Elite League by storm. They’re Vancouver. They’ve been there for so long and they’ve done so much for that organization for so long.”
Tobias Enstrom: “What impresses me the most is that they’ve always been the same, they haven’t changed at all in the way they treat people. They are so respected because of that. What they’ve done in hockey is hard to describe in words. But most of all, it’s how they are off the ice.”
16. Their tic-tac-toe goal with Alex Burrows:

15. Their Players’ Tribune article, which brought out the feels of all Canucks fans:
14. When Daniel set the record for accuracy shooting at the 2011 All-Star Game:

13. Henrik’s quadruple overtime winner vs. Dallas during the 2007 Western Conference quarterfinals. “Henrik! From Daniel! Canucks win! In 4 overtimes!” remains one of the most legendary play-by-play moments in Canucks history.

11. and the original “The Shift” moment in 2007 vs Edmonton:

10. When Henrik was named Captain at the start of the 2010-2011 season. This video still gives me the chills:

9. Henrik’s 1,000th point, which prompted his teammates to pour off the bench and celebrate. That was amazing.

8. Daniel’s 1,000th point, which prompted an excited celebration by Brock Boeser:

7. When the twins donated $1.5 million to help build a new BC Children’s Hospital. They set the bar and they set the bar high – not for who can donate the most amount of money to a charity or foundation, but for how to be great people and give back to their community.
Henrik: “Every time Daniel and I visit BC Children’s Hospital we meet kids and their parents who come from all over BC. This is our way of saying thank you to British Columbians for all the support we’ve received since we joined the Canucks.”
Daniel: “Henrik and I along with our families feel very fortunate to live and work in this great city and province. We are committed to giving back to the community we live in and wanted to do something that would benefit children and families across the province.”
6. When Henrik won the King Clancy Trophy in 2015-16 and brought his son, Valter, up on stage with him.

5A. When Henrik put up 112 points (29 goals, 83 assists) in 82 games in 2009-10, thus winning the Art Ross and Hart Trophy.

5B. When Daniel put up 104 points (41 goals, 63 assists) in 82 games the season after, winning the Art Ross and Ted Lindsay Award.

4. Daniel’s hat-trick goal vs. Calgary. That’s all I need to say because you already know what I’m talking about. It’s arguably the best goal they’ve ever scored and perfectly showcases the two as players: Daniel the scorer and Henrik the passer:

2. We end off where it all began. In 1999, Brian Burke somehow managed to pull off some wheeling and dealing that will probably never be replicated again:
