Abbotsford Canucks release full 2024-25 season schedule

The Abbotsford Canucks have officially released their full 2024-25 season schedule.
Much like their parent team in Vancouver, the baby Canucks will open their season against Calgary, kicking off the year with a two-game stint against the Wranglers.
Starting with a four-game road swing, Abby will not return home until October 25th, where they will host their first home weekend back-to-back against the San Diego Gulls.
As always, the full schedule consists of 72 games, primarily featuring divisional matchups (64 games). Throughout the year, they will only face two non-divisional opponents in Manitoba and Laval.
Here is the full breakdown of matchups:
Divisional Matchups:
  • 12 games – Calgary Wranglers (last season record: 7-4-1-0)
  • 8 games – Colorado Eagles (last season record: 4-3-1-0)
  • 8 games – San Diego Gulls (last season record: 2-1-0-1)
  • 8 games – San Jose Barracuda (last season record: 3-1-0-0)
  • 8 games – Tucson Roadrunners (last season record: 2-2-0-0)
  • 8 games – Bakersfield Condors (last season record: 5-1-1-1)
  • 4 games – Ontario Reign (last season record: 4-4-0-0)
  • 4 games – Coachella Valley Firebirds (last season record: 1-5-2-0)
  • 4 games – Henderson Silver Knights (last season record: 5-3-0-0)
Non-Divisional Matchups:
  • 4 games – Manitoba Moose (last season record: 3-1-0-0)
  • 4 games – Laval Rocket (last season record: 4-0-0-0)
As you can see, the Canucks had strong success against their non-divisional rivals last season, winning seven of eight games against the same two teams they will face this upcoming season.
In terms of divisional rivals, they dominated the Bakersfield Condors, who finished just three points behind Abby last season. However, they struggled mightily against Coachella Valley, who made their second consecutive AHL Finals appearance just a few weeks ago.
Here are a few names keep an eye on for the upcoming season:
  • Calgary Wranglers – Hunter Brzustewicz, Vancouver’s 2023 third-round pick is slated to turn pro this year. Traded away in the Elias Lindholm deal, he’s coming off a very strong OHL campaign to the tune of 92 points (13 goals, 79 assists) in just 67 games.
  • San Jose Barracuda – With both turning pro, there is a high chance that Will Smith and recent first overall Macklin Celebrini will stick in the show. However, there’s always a chance that we see one, if not both, down in the farm if things don’t pan out as planned.
  • Bakersfield Condors – Freshly dealt from the Buffalo Sabres system, Matthew Savoie will likely be a force to be reckoned with at the AHL level. He’s coming off a 1.44 point-per-game clip across 183 WHL games, and has two goals and five points across six AHL games.
