The Vancouver Canucks will not be re-signing pending unrestricted free agent Nic Petan, according to Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie and Dhali – The Team.

Petan signed with his hometown team ahead of last season after spending the three years prior with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
A native of Delta, BC, the 27-year-old Petan tallied 12 goals and 32 assists through 37 games with the Abbotsford Canucks in their inaugural season, but recorded just two assists in 18 appearances with Vancouver this past season.
Hunt to explore his options in free agency
Another hometown kid, this time Maple Ridge product Brad Hunt, is planning on exploring his options in free agency, according to Dhaliwal.
As of right now, been told Canucks UFA defenseman Brad Hunt will be exploring his options.
Maple Ridge native played 50 games for the Canucks this season.

Hunt appeared in 50 games for the Canucks, and is a player that Bruce Boudreau likes a lot. It will be interesting to see how the Canucks decide to replace their 6th/7th defenceman who appeared in 50 games this season, should he sign with another club.
Free agency begins on July 13th, with the NHL Draft taking place on July 7th and 8th.
