The Vancouver Canucks practiced today ahead of their two-game road trip against Vegas and Arizona, and were missing some players at practice.

Brock Boeser was absent from practice today and after the club announced he was out with an upper body injury, head coach Bruce Boudreau said that Boeser is still being evaluated and won’t make the road trip.

Boeser’s wrist was put in an awkward position late in the second period of Sunday night’s tilt with the Golden Knights after Elias Pettersson accidentally caught Boeser’s wrist in between his body and the boards when Pettersson tried to finish a check.

Additionally, Quinn Hughes wasn’t at practice today due to non-COVID-related illness, and may join the team tomorrow in Vegas. Boudreau confirmed that it was the stomach bug that originally caused Bo Horvat to leave Wednesday’s game against St. Louis that forced the Canucks to cancel yesterday’s practice.

Multiple players are dealing with the illness.

Finally, Boudreau said that he thinks with 12 games to go on the season, both defenceman Tucker Poolman and forward Nils Höglander will be done for the season.
