The news is fast and furious on this Thursday morning as the Canucks skated in Tampa Bay ahead of their rematch against the Lightning.
First, the Canucks signed Darren Archibald to a contract yesterday and is expected to join the team in Carolina tomorrow as he waits on immigration. I am no immigration lawyer, but my understanding is that Archibald was employed by an American business, in this case, the Utica Comets, and now that he signed with a Canadian business (the Canucks), it has to go through the normal pryocess, thus the dela.
To add to that, Brendan Gaunce was seen in a walking boot this morning and will be unable to play:
Given that, the Canucks have recalled forward Reid Boucher from the Utica Comets:
After all the moves, the Canucks will have Reid Boucher and Nic Dowd inserted into the lineup for the injured Sam Gagner and Brendan Gaunce.
With Anders Nilsson starting, it’s fair to assume that Jacob Markstrom will get the start tomorrow.
