Speaking to the media after this morning’s practice, Canucks head coach Travis Green provided updates on a number of injured Canucks and the roster moves that would follow. Green confirmed that winger Reid Boucher was on his way back to the Utica Comets and added that goaltender Thatcher Demko wouldn’t be far behind.
The Canucks recalled Demko ahead of last Saturday’s tilt with the Pittsburgh Penguins as insurance for Anders Nilsson. Nilsson was expecting a child at the time, hence the recall. The Nilsson’s have welcomed their child, Loui Nilsson, into this world, and the expectation is that Nilsson will join the Canucks in time for their matchup with the San Jose Sharks tomorrow night.
We interrupt #Canucks game coverage to introduce Loui Nilsson! 💙💚 (via @andersnilsson31 on Instagram)
The Utica Comets are playing the Charlotte Checkers at the time of writing this, so Demko won’t be available for that game. Demko should, however, be back in the net for Utica’s game next Wednesday. We’ll have both covered with full recaps at CanucksArmy.
