The Canucks have sent Jalen Chatfield back to the Utica Comets this morning.

The move was expected as the Canucks activated and dressed Chris Tanev for the contest against the Red Wings last night, and thus needed to make a move to make room for him. Chatfield was the easy solution to the problem as he does not require waivers and was just up as insurance. He did not appear in any games for the Canucks since being recalled on Novemeber1st.
If you haven’t had a chance yet, it’s worth checking out Darryl Keeping’s post on Chatfield from last week. It highlighted some of the good things that the prospect has been doing in Utica and how he those skills are a glimpse into what may make him successful in the NHL. Chatfield has one assist in seven games with the Comets this season.
He and Olli Juolevi have been playing well together and should be reunited again soon as the Utica Comets take on the Laval Rockets later this afternoon. They previously played the Canadiens affiliate twice this past weekend. Since the Canucks are on the east coast, it’s very possible that Chatfield will suit up for the Comets game tonight.
The Canucks take on the Boston Bruins on Thursday at 4:00PM PT.
