Just when you thought that the Canucks might be down with injuries, the injury bug showed up again. This time taking Anders Nilsson for a few weeks with a fractured finger:
Nilsson joins Tanev, Edler, Baertschi and Beagle on the sidelines as the #Canucks suffer another injury. https://t.co/CCYvQeIOKw

He joins Jay Beagle, Chris Tanev, Sven Baertschi, and Alex Edler on the sidelines with various ailments.
Given Nilsson is expected to be out a few weeks, the Canucks will be recalling Richard Bachman from the Utica Comets, likely on an emergency basis to avoid the waiver clock ticking away. This is done because Thatcher Demko is still recovering from the concussion suffered in Canucks training camp.
The Canucks have a game every second day until November 11 and 12, so it’s fair to expect that they will be riding Jacob Markstrom up until that point.
For a team that was already in tough, the ever-growing injury list is making the uphill battle even harder.
This seems to happen every year, injuries, injuries, injuries. What can go wrong will go wrong. However behind every dark cloud there is a silver lining – the trick is to find it.
The silver lining is another high draft pick. Hopefully first overall.
The Canucks don’t have enough depth to sustain so many injuries. Last year Wash, TB and Winn had virtually no injury time to all or most of their top scorers and how did they do? This is disheartening and ridiculous because they’ve been exceeding expectations. It’s good to be good but I’d rather be lucky, in reference to injuries. How on Earth can you catch a break?
What`s it been for Demko; Five weeks? Was this another example of Benning dissing people and poisoning the well, like did with Rodin and Tryamkin – neither of which will be back.
Wojo put the pipe down…..
you know what?
it sounds stupid but kinda make sense….
Yeah, sure wish we had Rodin back.
Demko took a shot to the head.
His family and doctors are protecting him as they should.
Thankfully, he’s nowhere near Coach Green.
lol. Yo know you’re the ultimate cheerleader when Ol’ Bud has finally turned on the management, but you’re still there waving the pom noms and wondering about how good this team could be if they weren’t always dealing with all those gosh darn injuries!
Hopefully he won’t be watching until hockey is a non contact sport and then he can quit whining.
I know Dud, let’s wrap these multi millionaire athletes in cotton wool to play, then tuck them up in bed afterwards with hot milk n cookies. Bless!
It wasnt Green who put him on a plane back to Utica, it was the teams mgmt. I rarely support TG, but its not fair to lay Demkos ills at Greens feet.
Who knows though? Maybe Thather simply wasn’t vocal enough about his uncertainty at flying so soon after his injury?
What else is new? Same issue year in year out. Not much that can be done with freak injuries, but some of the guys on IR…..ugh….Tanev may overtake Salo soon enough for the label “most injury prone player”. So much bad luck with injuries
