About the Oilers’ chances for the playoffs: Yes, they’re only five points out of the last wildcard spot, and five points isn’t a lot. However, the big problem the Oilers have is that they are not tied for second-last with a cluster of other struggling teams, they’re behind every team except Arizona and they have to PASS six teams, most of whom are better than they are. The Oilers are in a very difficult spot.

Got to be pleasantly surprised by the Oilers comeback game against Detroit after the disaster in St. Louis. If the Oilers have a chance to make a winning streak, the next 3 games should be it. And winning streaks do harbor good things. So the question is, “How will they do against Buffalo, Boston, and Arizona over the next 3 games?” These 3 games will probably decide their future lot for the playoffs or not.
