Plays of the Week: June 18th-June 24th

It was a great week for the Canucks. Despite losing Luca Sbisa to the Vegas Golden Knights, Jim Benning and the scouting staff pulled off commendable work at the NHL Entry Draft. As usual, Canucks Army was out in full force keeping you updated on all the events at the draft. Miss an article? I’ve got you covered with our Plays of the Week!

  • Information overload. I wish you guys could spread things out a little more, but good job getting the information out to us.

Also, did Carl Neill and Tate Olsen re-enter the draft, and if so, did they get drafted? Not much was said after Canucks cut them loose. I thought both would play in Utica this year.

Not sure what’s happening with Olsen but neither he or Neill got redrafted and Neill has apparently committed to Concordia’s team if he doesn’t get a pro contract. It’s unfortunate but then there’s about a 2% chance of making the NHL/NBA/MLB/NFL for college/junior players so it’s not exactly uncommon.

I can`t get over it. That was a blunder that rivals Irving Grundman and Denis Savard. Cody Glass is the next in line for being the dominate center iceman from western Canada that goes back at least 50 years. He will be joining a list that includes; Bobby Clarke, Bryan Trottier, Mark Messier, Joe Sakic and Ryan Getzlaf. That`s my opinion of Cody Glass.
