This year’s camp includes 33 players which is broken up into 19 forwards, 10 defenceman and 4 goaltenders.
The full roster can be found, is clickable here.
Some notes about the roster:
- All of the Canucks draft classes of 2015 and 2016 are in attendance.
- Thatcher Demko and Mackenze Stewart (who are listed as a defenceman) are the only players from the 2014 class – with Nikita Tryamkin and Jake Virtanen graduating to the NHL, Jared McCann and Gustav Forsling having been traded and Kyle Pettit going unsigned.
- Troy Stecher, Michael Garteig and Yan-Pavel Laplante – all signed to entry level contracts in the past few months, are in attendance.
- The Canucks have invited three defencemen, nine forwards and two goaltenders (plus Curtis Valk) – which we will cover more in depth early next week.
All the details and information can be found on the Canucks website here.
What about Jordan Subban?
He’d be the second oldest guy there, behind Curtis Valk, who doesn’t look like he’ll ever make it to the NHL.
It’s a waste of his time to go to this camp, he’ll go to the pro’s camp.
A waste of time? Seriously?
Yeah, it is. Notice that Cole Cassels isn’t there either? They’re from the same draft year, and Cole was taken a round before Jordan.
They both have a full year of the AHL under their belt. They’re professionals now.
Doesn’t explain Valk, mind you…
Looking forward to the Prospects tourney in Sept. Hopefully all the big names from the above list will be there. And yeah, what about Subban?
Where’s that monster goalie from last year??
We didn’t resign Clay Witt.
