Canucks Player Power Rankings – Feb 16th, 2015

The Canucks went 2-2-0 against the Wild, Blackhawks, Bruins, and Flames and you’ll never guess which teams they beat.

1. Daniel Sedin

The nicest part of this goal is that it was Daniel’s second nicest goal of the night. The second nicest part of this goal is that Duncan Keith got a close-up view of it.

2. Henrik Sedin

Hopefully Jamie Benn’s attempt to reach out to the Sedins was nothing like Michal Rozsival’s bumbling attempt to reach out to Henrik Sedin here.

3. Shawn Matthias

It would be really cool if Shawn made this his trademark thing and wore a different hat every day for the rest of his career.

4. Alex Edler

Actual photo of Canucks nation awaiting word on Edler’s shoulder injury.

5. Zack Kassian

There should probably be an official NHL award for the league’s most gif-able player just so we could see Zack Kassian’s explain that he doesn’t know what a .gif is in his acceptance speech.

6. Chris Tanev

“Potentially concussed Chris Tanev” is probably the worst phrase I’ve heard since “Alex Edler will not return tonight with an upper body injury”.

7. Radim Vrbata

This goal was everyone’s valentine. Like a surgeon receiving a paycheque, Radim saw his patience pay off.

8. Alex Burrows

Nothing more awkward than spending Valentines day with a former flame (and current Flame, in this case):

9. Bo Horvat

Bo Horvat managed to take Chara down with him after a collision:

Canucks fans were all like Max Domi watching Horvat make a half-court shot:

10. Eddie Lack

If you need some incentive to be a happy and nice person, look at Eddie Lack’s headline this week and then look at John Tortorella’s:

11. Ryan Miller

Ryan Miller had two strong games and one very weak game this week, but more importantly, why did no one tell me about this video of him and his tiny dog:

Celebrating a win! ??

12. Dan Hamhuis

If his veteran pals keep dropping, Hamhuis is going to be surrounded by random teenagers. Gotta practice some breakdancing so he’ll fit in.

13. Jannik Hansen

Are Jannik Hansen empty net goals the new Jannik Hansen breakaways?

14. Linden Vey

Happy Valentine’s Vey! Vey to go! Oy vey! Everyone made Vey puns! Except @VanCanucks! Should we be worried?

15. Ronalds Kenins

Ronalds Kenins is Latvia’s second favourite hockey son and is playing hard to get until the nation votes him into the 2016 All Star Game, probably. Classic Ronalds. (via)

16. Chris Higgins

Higgins’ dad reveals that Chris Higgins has been doing That Abs Thing with his hockey pants forever (0:46 of this video):

17. Adam Clendening

Adam Clendening hopefully has convinced Teuvo Teravainen to request a trade to his new pal’s team:

18. Ryan Stanton

His lowest moment, captured beautifully:

19. Derek Dorsett

With the Canucks’ victory over Boston and Milan Lucic, Derek Dorsett got a little bit of watered-down, extremely-late revenge for the 2007 Memorial Cup. Losing to Lucic in a cup final in Vancouver is something a lot of these guys can bond over.

20. Luca Sbisa

It is a very good thing that this puck went into the net:

21. Yannick Weber

The most interesting thing that Yannick Weber did this week was take Carey Price’s dad along on the dad’s roadtrip. According to Jerry Price, “Yannick is a lot like Carey” which could make for an interesting goaltending situation for the Canucks. Or maybe Yannick also likes dressing up in full cowboy gear:

22. Nick Bonino

Nick Bonino is hurt so now is probably a good time to talk about his ideas for Chipotle to improve the burrito experience:

23. Brad Richardson

I don’t want to know what went wrong immediately after this photo was taken and I definitely don’t want to know what would have happened if it had been Kassian operating the torch.

24. Kevin Bieksa

Is there anyone he won’t block?

25. Frankie Corrado

All that Frankie has done to deserve the bottom spot be hurt and be less interesting than Kevin Bieksa. I’m sorry, Frankie.
