In case you had a late shift last night and couldn’t watch the game, or alternatively, if you are a poser and want to sound like you watched the game, here’s a brief review.
Duncan Keith takes a two minute penalty for tripping. Kyle Wellwood from the point, fakes the shot and fires a rock hard pass to Sundin who crossed over to Demitra who bangs it home with little to no difficulty. 1-0 Canucks
At even strength, Bernier drops a pass to Daniel who cuts down below the goal line. Daniel then quickly centered it to Henrik (the little sniper who could) and he buried it. 2-0 Canucks.
Ten minutes later, at even strength, a wrister from Edler is deflected into the corner. Wellwood retreives the puck and quiclkly centers it to Kesler who bangs it in. 3-0 Canucks.
On minute into the third period, Patrick Kane demonstrates how the Hawks are not going to take this lying down when he fires a puck in over the shoulder of Luongo. 3-1 Canucks
Hordichuk takes a boneheaded play and on the powerplay Kane buries a rebound for his second goal of the night with assists from Seabrook and Versteeg. 3-2 Canucks.
With just over five minutes remaining Bolland, with helpers from Keith and Eager make it a 3-3 hockey game. GM place drops about 50 decibels.
With just over a minute left the Canucks go on what looks to be a 4-1 at one point. Raymond comes flying down the left wing and centers a pass over to Bernier. Khabibulin robs Bernier on the one timer. Salo comes rushing in to hammer the puck into the top of the net. GM place erupts and so does Salo as he motions to the fans to make some noise. 4-3 Canucks
With an empty net Burrows, Kesler and Johnson get a 3 on 1. Burrows crosses the puck over to Ryan Johnson who buries the empty netter in. 5-3 Canucks FINAL
GM Place erupts as the music of John Williams celebrates the Canucks eighth consecutive win and fifth consecutive playoff win. Hundreds of Bra-less women sit disappointed as Cowan didn’t dress.
