Game Day Recon #11 - Canucks @ Oilers
The Vancouver Canucks head out on a quick two-game road trip, and play on back-to-back nights, as they head to Alberta's capital to face the Edmonton Oilers. Joining them on the ice for the first time this season is Alex Burrows, fully recovered and finally eligible to play after his LTIR stint to start the year.
Canucks fans can expect Burrows to come out flying and agitating, which is exactly what the Canucks need, playing back-to-back games. But the bigger story here is that the Canucks come into tonight's game still looking for their first road win of the season.

Game Day Recon #10 - Devils @ Canucks
The Vancouver Canucks return to action after 6 days off to host the last-place New Jersey Devils. The Devils have been plagued by injuries to their defense and are now without one of their top forwards. Sound familiar? Yes, the Devils and Canucks injury situations are eerily similar. But the difference is that the Canucks are getting healthy quickly, as they will see Alex Burrows and Keith Ballard return this week, and possibly Dan Hamhuis as well. The Devils, on the other hand, are not close to having those players return, and now have to play without Zach Parise.

The game many of us grew up playing or watching will once again have to face one of its deepest and darkest secrets now that Graham James is back in Canada. This time around, I hope the hockey world embraces the victims and sets the stage for other victims to come forward because the hockey world will support them too.

Let's face it folks. We have six days between games and there isn't much to talk about in Canucks land right now.
The Rypien saga looks to be mostly contained. The Canucks don't have rookies in the lineup where they need to send them back to the minors or to junior. And the supposed goaltending "controversy" was all for naught.
So let's review the Canucks season so far. Why not, eh?
