Another week, another controversial Boston Bruins hit. No one is surprised that a Boston Bruins player, in this case Milan Lucic, got away with a cheap-shot, that's how the story always seems to go. As far as I'm concerned, a goalie playing the puck outside the crease should be fair game, but that's not how it works in the rulebook, or in practice.
Milan Lucic pretty clearly could've made an effort to avoid Ryan Miller, he didn't. Instead he drove through the hit and concussed one of the world's best goaltenders. I didn't think the hit was altogether that heinous, but I wouldn't have had an issue with the former Vancouver Giant being suspended for a game or two. After all, i thought the NHL was trying to do more to discourage exactly these types of unnecessary plays that can lead to concussions...

Well folks, we knew Ryan Miller was pissed off at Milan Lucic. That was obvious by the way he called out Lucic after the game against the Bruins. What we didn't realize was just how pissed off Miller might have gotten. Ryan Miller has apparently taken his fight off the ice, as he has started a campaign to try and keep Milan Lucic out of the All-Star game. He has even gone so far as to produce an ad campaign to support his cause. I won't lie, the video gets pretty nasty. This feud doesn't look to be dying anytime soon. I got a sneak peek of the video and I want to let all my fans preview it before it hits TV tomorrow. Enjoy!

This guy is angry AND dishevelled. And so am I.
Well, I'm not really dishevelled. I'm hanging out in my jammies. So I'm just lazy.

Today I continue my weekly feature of me venting and raging on stupid crap happening with the Canucks, their fans and around the NHL. Two things about feature... 1) It will appear (hopefully) every Monday, and 2) It is blatantly ripped off from a stand-up bit from comedian Craig Anton. On either point, I make no apologies. Enjoy. Or don't.
In this week's edition, I hate on dumb rules. And being "classy" or "classless". And anyone, especially refs, who denies us the glory of Rome.

Well, in regards to the title, obviously one player is a forward while the other is a defenseman.
Beyond that, the two have drawn comparisons recently. Aaron Rome is on a scoring tear right now, with three goals in his last four games, with another disallowed. He also scored in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals last season, so, playoffs and all, Aaron Rome has four goals in his last 11 games, which is a remarkable pace for a defenseman.
