Saturday's Canucks takedown of a resurgent Leafs squad wasn't the only entertainment on offer for hockey fans, they also had the pleasure of witnessing Glenn Healy and company out do themselves. From Ron Maclean's bizarre, hackneyed 'apology', to Healy's crazed pronouncements from between the benches, it was quite the night for once-proud flaghip show of hockey.

Sedins lead Canucks to win in T.O., recap and chance data

After losing two games to the lowest-ranked teams in each respective conference, the Vancouver Canucks faced a team that they've had a bit of recent dominance against in the Toronto Maple Leafs, coming off a close loss to the Buffalo Sabres a night prior. The Canucks got an early goal, had it tied up, got an early goal in the second, had it tied up again, but then pulled away in the third period to cement their ninth straight win against the Leafs.

Game Day Recon: Game #32 - Canucks @ Maple Leafs

The Vancouver Canucks lost consecutive games to the worst teams in either conference. Sobering, for sure. But par for the course when it comes to the Vancouver Canucks, who have found ways to lose to the bottom feeders in the league for several years. The good thing about the Canucks facing the Leafs is that the Leafs are currently in a playoff spot. And the Canucks should be good and pissed off after gagging away a two-goal lead in Carolina on Thursday.

The Mark Messier era: Why were the '98 Canucks so horrible?

All this news has popped up about the Vancouver Canucks apparently owing money to Mark Messier. I'd rather not get into the legal ramifications, because I'm no lawyer, but instead I'd like to ask... why weren't the Canucks, such a good team in 1997-98 on paper, such a bad hockey team in the end?
