Due to a technical error the long weekly report full of analysis of every team has been deleted and I was not able to recover it. This weeks report will be much shorter, but next week we will be back to our weekly programming. Follow me @nuckprospects to keep up with the latest in prospect news.

Hockey analytics has taken a big step forward in the blogging world these last few years, as we've had many fans track game events such as scoring chances to get a closer look at their favorite teams. Another thing that is beginning to be tracked by bloggers is zone entries, or the number of times each team or player enters the offensive zone during five-on-five play. This is done to evaluate a team's level of play in the neutral zone and is generally regarded as one of the more important studies going on in the analytics community right now. Why, though?

Cam Charron's favourite Canucks defence prospect not named Corrado or Subban is up. And there's no telling why.

Okay, you can exhale now.
Less than 48 hours after playing what can only be described as a snoozer of a game in Columbus the Canucks went into the Nassau Coliseum and won 5-4 in overtime against the New York Islanders in a back-and-forth, wild 'n' wacky game. Other than a quiet stretch that didn't have much in the way of happenings in the 3rd period this was a contest that was as entertaining as it gets.
Once you feel like you've adequately composed yourself and gathered your bearings, read on past the jump for some thoughts on the eventful victory by the Vancouver Canucks. There are definitely more than a few things to talk about.

Look at that strapping young man.
It feels like it has been forever since the Canucks were in Long Island, but apparently their last visit was on January 11th, 2011, so I guess the photo above is just a teensy weensy bit older than that. The Canucks will be playing the 4th game of their 7-game roadtrip, and they're coming off of a rather forgettable loss to the Blue Jackets. Fortunately for them they're probably catching a depleted New York Islanders squad at just the right time, as they'll be without a few important pieces in this one.
Read on past the jump for a preview of tonight's game against the soon-to-be Brooklyn Professional Hockey Team.
