Jackson Houck has been heating up of late, but has come under fire for off-ice issues.

Due to some gremlins in the CanucksArmy blogware, this week's Giants report is a bit abbreviated. Read on past the jump for news involving criminal charges against leading scorers Brett Kulak and Jackson Houck, as well as a look ahead to one of the marquee weekends of the Giants' season.

Canucks Army Postgame: Canucks win Corsi Cup, Lose Game

Smile, Tom, you silly man.

I kind of like the idea of a 'Corsi Cup', now that I actually think about it. Maybe we should've made coming up with what that would entail/look like the task for our contest (you still have time to participate, and potentially win a pair of sweet tickets against the Blackhawks!).

But I'm sure the fact that the Canucks controlled the majority of the game against the Anaheim Ducks will do nothing to appease the fans of this blog, after their team lost for the second time in two nights to finish off a road trip that saw them go 1-2-1. It's a long season, though - this particular game accounts for 1.2195122% of the season - and there were definitely some positives to take away from the performance, regardless of the result.

Read on past the jump for a look at what some of those were, if you'd like a little pick-me-up.

Canucks Army GDT #20 - Canucks @ Ducks

Mmm, pancakes.

The current cast of characters on the Anaheim Ducks sure do make it easy on us jokesters that enjoy having some fun at their expense. There's Dustin Penner's pancake escapades. There's Ryan Getzlaf's hair, and choice of beverage. There's.. whatever Corey Perry is doing here. Heck, there's even Mathieu Perreault's celebration.

What we can't make fun of, though, is what Vancouver's opponent on Sunday evening has done this season. They're 14-3-1 - including a 7-0-0 record at home - which is good for the highest point total in the league. So I think it's fair to say that the Canucks have their work cut out for them less than 24 hours after a rather embarrassing 5-1 loss at the hands of the Kings.

Read on past the jump for a quick preview of tonight's game. You'll note the 5PM PST start time, so plan your Sunday evening accordingly.

Canucks Army Postgame: [Insert Linden Vey Wordplay]

It sure did, Mr. Burgundy. It sure did. Speaking of Ron Burgundy, the Vancouver Canucks probably could've used his services in the latter parts of Saturday night's 5-1 loss to the Kings, considering that Tom Sestito actually managed to ecclipse the 10-minute time on ice mark. Anything would've helped.

The Canucks are now 1-1-1 on their tough road trip through the Pacific Division, and are now looking at a quick turnaround for a game tomorrow evening against an Anaheim Ducks squad that is 7-0-0 at home on the season. While that doesn't sound overly promising, let's try to put Saturday night's events in perspective - because as we preach all the time, you can't just look at the result in a vacuum - just past the jump.

Canucks Army GDT #19 - Canucks @ Kings

Expect to see a whole lotta this matchup tonight.

The Canucks walk into the building that Eric Cartman and Matthew Perry built on Saturday night for a tilt against a Los Angeles Kings squad that we're all too familiar with at this point. Just a few days ago, prior to the team embarking on their 4-game trip out to California, we noted that the next handful of games would serve as a nice litmus test for how they stacked up against some of the league's best.

Well.. so far, so good. They played a pretty solid road game that netted them a point  - which could've easily been two, if not for a few unlucky bounces - against a sneaky good Phoenix Coyotes squad. Then they submitted quite possibly their most impressive performance of the season when they went into a place that has recently been a house of horrors of sorts, the Shark Tank SAP Center, and handled the Sharks with relative ease.

Things don't really get easier in the near future, though. The Canucks find themselves staring at a back-to-back against the Kings and Sharks, before heading home to face the Sharks for the 4th and final time this season. Their opponent tonight is sitting at 10-6 right now which is good for only 5th in the Pacific and 9th in the West, but that may fool you, because they've once again been a dominant possession team. Despite the fact that they're missing two key pieces up front they'll surely still prove to be a handful on Saturday night.

Read on past the jump for a preview of the game.
