For the second time in as many years, Jannik Hansen is headed for a European vacation. I don't mean this literally of course but last season Jannik Hansen followed up on a breakout 2010-11 season that saw him morph into a playmaking, hard-hitting super pest with a listless, non-physical campaign in 2011-12. As a result the illustrious "#shap crew" coined the nickname "European vacation" for him, and that nickname was then popularized by Jason Botchford.
Well this time it's for real, as Jannik Hansen has agreed to a deal with Tappara of the SM-Liga (the Finnish elite league). Per the official Tappara Twitter feed:
Tappara hankki toisenkin NHL-pelaaja. Tanskalainen Vancouver Canucksissa pelaava hyökkääjä Jannik Hansen tulee Tampereelle tänään.— Tamhockey Oy (@Tapparaofficial) October 30, 2012
In case you were wondering how they say "Canucks" in Finnish, wonder no more! "Canucksissa" it is. [Correction: via Eetu Huisman "Canucksissa" means "in (the) Canucks". We don't have prepositions in Finnish, we have suffixes."]

There was an insane amount of KHL hockey today. Like I've been editing for hours and hours. If anyone says there's "no hockey" I'm going to have to punch them with my exhausted and carpal tunnel syndrome-stricken hands.

Like Fernando told us, it's more important to look good than to feel good.
With a little help from Alexandra Grant of Vancouver fashion blog To Vogue or Bust, we've got some advice for players who have lost access to their team-provided style experts (in the Canucks case, that roll is filled by Manny Malhotra). Booking ice time at the local public arena can be a scary enough experience, but dealing with the hordes of fans who will be scrutinizing your every public move - possibly even trying to join you in everything you do - it all can get a little scary. You want to look professional and sharp.
So for any professional, locked out hockey players reading this - we're here to help (well Alex really, I only asked some questions).

Tanev and Kassian celebrate their bright future.

Since the Canucks traded Cody Hodgson (and Alexander Sulzer) for Zack Kassian (and Marc-Andre Gragnani), friend of the blog and ESPN and Hockey Prospectus prospect guru Corey Pronman has consistently stated that Buffalo "recieved the best player in the deal." That is until today, when he released his top-50 rankings for players under the age of 23. On that list (which, features two Canucks skaters in Zack Kassian and Chris Tanev) Zack Kassian has leapfrogged Cody Hodgson, who only appeared as an honorable mention.
