I haven't been impressed at all with Ryan Kesler this postseason, and not many people are. Abs aside, playoff Kesler has appeared totally different, and less effective, than regular season Kesler. Diving, whining, slashing, all the bad stuff that has made people who don't watch this team as closely as we do say: "say, that isn't right".

Well, it's Do or Die now. A win tonight staves off possible elimination for 4 days. A loss sends the Canucks packing into the off-season with a whole lot of decisions to make. While a progression past this first round seems unlikely, if not impossible, Canucks fans are hoping to see their favourite team return home for at least one more game.
Tonight, though, the big question is: Will he or won't he? Will Daniel Sedin be healthy enough to make a triumphant return to the lineup? Many Canucks fans are praying to see #22 on the ice tonight, in hopes that his return can spark the team into a belated appearance in the "win" column.

Through four game in the team's preliminary round series against the Los Angeles Kings, the Canucks have barely been able to buy a goal. Despite out-shooting and out-chancing their opponents, only four of Vancouver's shots have found the back of the net, and only two of those four goals came off of scoring chances.
Clearly the Canucks miss their leading scorer Daniel Sedin, and lo and behold, with the club on the brink of becoming the first President's Trophy winner to be swept in round one of the postseason, Daniel returned to practice Tuesday afternoon. While the proposition of him dressing in game four remains presumptuous, it certainly looks like he's preparing for the possibility of suiting up for Wednesday night's game.

So the Canucks have put themselves in a rather notorious hole. Only three teams in NHL history have managed to come back from being down 3 games to none. How did they do it?

Ryan Kesler is angry. And so am I. But when I'm angry, I don't collapse in a heap and
immediately look at a referee with my hands in the air.

Today I continue my weekly feature of me venting and raging on stupid crap happening with the Canucks, their fans and around the NHL. Two things about feature... 1) It will appear (hopefully) every Monday, and 2) It is blatantly ripped off from a stand-up bit from comedian Craig Anton. On either point, I make no apologies. Enjoy. Or don't.
This week, I give a Shanaban to the "Faint Hope" clause, Playoff Kesler and my own inexplicable beliefs.
