The Kurtenbloggers (Mike Halford and Jason Brough) were blogosphere pioneers in a number of ways. Not only were they the first mainstream Canucks blog, but they were among the first off-beat, fan perspective hockey blogs to be affiliated with a mainstream daily news publication. As the years went by, these “Jackasses from the Interweb,” moved onto the TEAM1040 where, for many Canucks fans, they made for can’t miss radio. But you know all this.
In this conversation from Friday afternoon, the Kurtenbloggers flesh out some of their most memorable moments, divulge the secret to making Jason Botchford bring his “insane game,” and discuss moving onto their new project over at NBC Sports' Pro Hockey Talk blog.

Editors Note: Jeff Angus got a chance to sit down and chat with Alex Burrows yesterday. They talked about a wide range of things – his charity work, movies, music, Halloween costumes, the Davis Cup, and how Burrows is dominating the Canucks fantasy football league.
Angus: Alex, I hear you have been doing some work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. How has the experience been for you?
Burrows: We have worked with the NHLPA and donated 50 sets of equipment to kids in need, and they were really happy to get it. That was a lot of fun. On Sunday, I am going to meet this kid who is coming in from Alberta who says I am his favourite player.

I was six when that picture was taken, and had the opportunity to go, having an uncle on the team. Being scared of the noise in the old domed stadium, I never went, and its one of the biggest regrets I have. I can't remember the game, but it would be nice to say I was in the building for Vancouver's greatest sports moment.

Last week I was lucky enough to get a chance to speak Nardwuar the human serviette. Nardwuar is known for his flashy style of dress, his unique sign off "Doot Doola Doot Doo... Doot Doot!" and his always entertaining interviews with rock stars and various other celebrities. Simply put, Nardwuar is something of a national treasure. He's also a massive Canucks fan, with some really funny hockey stories. What follows is the conversation we had:
Thomas Drance (aka Artem Chubarov): Hey Nardwuar, so who is your favorite current hockey player?
Nardwuar: Hullo-ho Artem! I guess my favorite current hockey player is Eric Nesterenko, my great, great uncle who played with the Blackhawks. He’s still at it! He was actually at the award ceremony a few years ago when Chicago won the cup, he was brought in their because he won the cup with Chicago in 1961 and he’s still athletic. I mean, he’s still a ski instructor in Vail, and you can see him in the movie Youngblood – what more can you want?! So he’s my favorite current hockey player, cause he’s still doing it!
