Canucks Army Recap: Harder, Better, Fauster, Stronger

Thomas Drance
February 20 2015 08:17PM

You'd think a club like the Vancouver Canucks, what with their rich history of changing up apparel and team colours every five years or so, would feel right at home in New Jersey. You'd be wrong.

The lifeless, Burrows-less Canucks limped through most of the second of back-to-back games against the New Jersey Devils on Saturday night. They looked slow and tired, well everyone except for Zack Kassian, until a late push made things somewhat interesting. Also Jordin Tootoo scored against them.

A couple of cheeky Kassian finishes and Willie Desjardins' momentary end-game brilliance aside, it was perhaps their worst performance of the season.

Canucks Army GDT #58: Canucks @ Devils

Rhys Jessop
February 20 2015 01:31PM

After a thrilling come-from-behind win against the New York Rangers last night, the Canucks are back in the saddle this evening as they face a struggling New Jersey Devils squad that's scored fewer goals this year than any non-Buffalo NHL team. The Devils are playing some atrocious hockey of late as their possession numbers have cratered since the firing of Peter DeBoer. Still, it won't be easy for the Canucks as they're on the second leg of a road back-to-back, and every win is critical to keeping themselves in the playoff race.

Read past the jump for a preview of tonight's tilt.

Canucks Army Midterm Prospect Rankings: #1 Bo Horvat

Josh W
February 20 2015 09:00AM

Here at Canucks Army, we love three things more than anything in the world: prospects, prospect rankings, and whining about prospect rankings.  Every summer we vote on and rank the top-20 Canucks prospects to take stock of what's in the system, and every summer we hear vocal complaints from our readers they disagree with our rankings.

So this year, in our mid-term ranking, we gave you the chance to vote on prospects and have a say on these players.  Since our summer rankings, we've simplified the definition of "prospect" to any player in the Vancouver Canucks' system that is eligible for the Calder Trophy if they were to play in the NHL this year.  This means that players like Linden Vey and Joacim Eriksson who were not rated over the summer will be covered in this series.

Without further ado, here is our top rated Canucks Prospect
