There is a little something from everywhere this week on NationRadio. Red Deer Rebels talk starts it off, then it swings over to the Winnipeg Jets. Then Jason Bonsignore emerges from the mists of time to talk about his stint as an Oiler so many years ago.
Then some AHL talk and a look ahead at the Oilers special teams rounds out the week. Oh and what's that? A Toronto Maple Leafs update if anyone West of Mississauga cares to hear about that sort of nonsense.
This is NationRadio.

Chuck Pleiness of the Macomb Daily Times broke the news yesterday (stick tap to PHT's Joe Yerdon) that the Canucks have offered former Red Wings goaltender Manny Legace a PTO. Manny Legace - who spent last year in the German league with the Iserlohn Roosters - hasn't played in the NHL since a 28 game stint with the Carolina Hurricanes in the 09-10 season.(*) You can go read the official Canucks.nhl.com press release announcing the deal here.
(*) The Iserlohn Roosters have a pretty hilarious "aggressive Rooster" logo.

Earlier this week, I took to the Nations Network to further analyze a player's plus/minus rating, specifically to do with on-ice shot differential, in an effort to learn more about teams and players, sharing a theory I have with "high event" hockey players.
CA Prospect Profiles: Yann Sauve

When Mike Gillis selected Yann Sauve in the second round of the 2008 NHL draft, it was only his second draft pick ever as the General Manager of the Canucks. Sauve was seen as a big (6 foot 3, 220 pounds) puck moving defenseman with solid skating ability. Heralded as a 2-way defenseman, his stock had steadily dropped over the last couple seasons as his junior team (the Saint John Sea Dogs) steadily improved. It was said that the development of his offensive game had stalled, and that he no longer had top-4 potential.
