The 2009 NHL draft is almost upon us and on Friday some teams will make a selection that solidifies their organization; others will make choices that keep them spinning their wheels, while some will outright strike out.
In today’s game if you don’t draft well you have no chance of competing. Of course astute trades and free-agent signings are keys to success as well, but the foundation of every championship team is built through their draft.
With the 22nd pick, the Vancouver Canucks proudly select... ???

There are two big questions for the Canucks leading up to Draft Day. #1-So who's it gonna at 22? #2-Is Mike Gillis going to be wheeling and dealing to make another "bold" move?

Until three years ago, Father's Day was a day I tried to ignore. A day I wanted to come and go as quickly as possible. It had been a day that made me dark and sad and envious and angry. It was a day I always ended up feeling sorry for myself, and loathing how I always fell into that trap. I'm guessing I'm not alone in that.

So it seems Brent Sutter will soon be introduced as the new head coach of the Calgary Flames.
