The Canucks were doing a whole LOT of this last night: CHASING THE PUCK.
And they have a new Canuck Killer on their hands - Alex Steen.

We're now 10 games into the Vancouver Canucks' season, and one thing has become clear to me: the Canucks have mastered the art of phoning it in.

Whether the man in net is the much-maligned Roberto Luongo or the golden-boy Cory Schneider, the Canucks effort level when starting games has stayed at 0 with no signs of increasing. Last night, their disinterest was on full display from start to finish, and the Canucks biggest problem lies with their best players.

Hey, Daniel. Could you tell you the res of the team that tonight's home game starts at 7 o'clock.
No. SEVEN. Yeah, I know. Weird, eh?

Game Day Recon: Game #10 - Blues @ Canucks

The Canucks don't get much of an opportunity to sulk and wallow about their loss last night, as they face the St. Louis 24.5 hours after the start of their last game.

The Canucks have already have one set of back-to-back games this year. In game 1, they lost by one goal, then got shellacked in game 2 (the score line was not representative of the tilt in play). Vancouver is looking to seal a different fate tonight and maybe a return to Rogers Arena is what they need.

I like to imagine that Henrik Sedin just chopped off Ryan Smyth's legs with a scythe.
But Smitty just fell. And that's probably more funny.

Game Day Recon: Game #9 - Canucks @ Oilers

The Vancouver Canucks play at Rexall Place for the second time in 10 days, where they'll face Ryan Nugent-Hopkins... and some other guys in copper and blue with whom Mark Lee is completely unfamiliar. Just kidding, Mark Lee knows who all the Oilers are. He just straight-up doesn't care. All Nuge, all the time, right Mark?

Luckily for Canucks fans, tonight we are spared the indecency of a Mark Lee broadcast. Instead, we get the terrific insight and in-depth analysis of John "I like hot wings and smooth peanut butter" Garrett.

Today I continue my weekly feature of me venting and raging on stupid crap happening with the Canucks, their fans and around the NHL. Two things about feature... 1) It will appear (hopefully) every Monday, and 2) It is blatantly ripped off from a stand-up bit from comedian Craig Anton. On either point, I make no apologies. Enjoy. Or don't.

In this week's edition, I crack the whip on TSN's schedule makers, hockey in the Desert and trolling, "professional" journalists.

David Booth comes to the Canucks and could be just the right ingredient to complete
the second line with Ryan Kesler.

BREAKING NEWS...

The Vancouver Canucks have traded Marco Sturm and Mikael Samuelsson to the Florida Panthers for David Booth, Steven Reinprecht and a 2013 3rd round draft pick.

It appears, at first glance, that Mike Gillis has finally rounded out the second line and given Ryan Kesler a complementary speedy winger.
