Prior to the start of this game both teams new that earning 2 points was imperative. For the Phoenix Coyotes winning this game meant more than gaining points, a win for the Coyotes would have set a franchise record for the most wins at home. Vancouver made sure that achieving this record would be very hard as this game was finally won by Phoenix in the shootout.

With Christmas just over a week away, most people would be excused if their thoughts were not as focused on work as they normally would be. After all this time of year is meant to be about enjoying the company of family and good food — it’s also a chance to un-wind and recharge the batteries, whilst remembering the true meaning of Christmas.
