This sports fan is angry. And so am I.
He must really hate the latest deal on Groupon. Seriously, who needs that many pedicures?

Today I continue my weekly feature of me venting and raging on stupid crap happening with the Canucks, their fans and around the NHL. Two things about feature... 1) It will appear (hopefully) every Monday, and 2) It is blatantly ripped off from a stand-up bit from comedian Craig Anton. On either point, I make no apologies. Enjoy. Or don't.
In this week's edition, I give six punches to the face to lame inside jokes, useless exposes, and the endless array of Bowl Games.

The last time that the Sharks visited Rogers Arena to play a meaningful game, this happened.
How about some more magic tonight, Kevin? Kevin, stop dancing and listen.

Game Day Recon: Game #40 - Sharks @ Canucks
By January 22nd, the Canucks and Sharks will have played all four of their regular season games against one another. That's quite a shame, given the bad blood that had clearly developed between these two teams.
Next year, however, with divisional realignment we'll get to see a WHOLE LOT of the Fish Battle. Right now, we just have to enjoy the spectacle and take it all in. And let's hope that involves more Canucks game-winning goals off The Stanchion.

The Good and the Bad of this past week.
It's Friday. So we close out the "Week That Was" with our latest volume of Cheers and Jeers.
This week, I snub ESPN, shove Ott, while I give a stick-tap to the Piano Desk and a couple of exuberant WJC players.

My clever play on "Peking Duck" above will probably fall completely flat.
Much like the Anaheim Ducks have done in the past 19 games, as evidenced in this photo.
"I'm supposed to WHAT? BACK check?! Oh! Ok, got it. Oh, wait. He's gone already."

Game Day Recon: Game #38 - Canucks @ Ducks
The Vancouver Canucks slugged and duked it out with the San Jose Sharks last night in the Bay Area, and are rewarded with a game in Anaheim. The Ducks are terrible and have been terrible all season. The Canucks are rolling and have proven that they can win on the road against the elite teams of the league. So it's guaranteed win night for the Canucks, right?
That usually means it's a guaranteed loss.

Ol' One-Eye beat Boyle and Niemi on this play to give his Canucks
a 1-0 lead in their first meeting this season.
He'll need to be solid tonight, especially in the second period (that's foreshadowing, kids!)

Game Day Recon: Game #37 - Canucks @ Sharks
Looking to escape the cold, wet and miserable weather for a few days, the Vancouver Canucks sweet-talked the NHL schedule makers into giving them a 3-game road trip to Southern California to close out 2011.
First up on the Tanning Tour... the San Jose Sharks and their mediocre rise to the top of their division. Tonight the Canucks look to dine on some Shark Fin Soup!
***Ed note*** The practice of harvesting shark fins for use in soup and other foodstuffs is highly unethical and, in some countries illegal, and is not condoned in any way by CanucksArmy. Plus, I hear it's really disgusting.
