The Good and the Bad of this past week.
It's Friday. So we close out the "Week That Was" with our latest volume of... "Cheers and Jeers!"
This week, I tip my hat to Captain Clutch and a couple of Blackhawks fans (WHAT?!?!), but I stop the clock on the Staples Center staff and smash my own hands in penance.

Game Day Recon: Game #51 - Red Wings @ Canucks
As Iain McIntyre wrote in a column late yesterday, "Nobody hates the Wings and it's making me sick." He says, if winning breeds hatred for other NHL teams, as Ken Hitchcock suggested when asked why everyone hates the Canucks, then why doesn't everyone (well, everyone but Ryan Lambert) hate the perennial Cup contending Red Wings? All they've done is win for 15 years. Yet, they're considered the model organization, from ownership on down.
Well... Yeah. They are. Because they're good! And they've won for 15 years. But let's starting hating the Red Wings too.

Game Day Recon: Game #50 - Blackhawks @ Canucks
The Vancouver Canucks have, for the most part, had an entire week off from live game action. Sure, the Sedins and Alex Edler played in Sunday's NHL All-Star Game, but let's be honest - that's not a real game. Effectively, the Canucks have not seen proper game action last Tuesday's win over the Oilers. Couple that with a very light January schedule and the team should be well rested to close out the month.
Well, they better be ready to play tonight, as they face their fiercest rival; a team that now has a very familiar face.

Today I continue my weekly feature of me venting and raging on stupid crap happening with the Canucks, their fans and around the NHL. Two things about feature... 1) It will appear (hopefully) every Monday, and 2) It is blatantly ripped off from a stand-up bit from comedian Craig Anton. On either point, I make no apologies. Enjoy. Or don't.
This week, I spit on the ground in front of ASG over-analysis, lazy reporting (Hi Spec!), and signing goons in today's NHL.
