The Good and the Bad of this past week.
It's Friday. So we close out the "Week That Was" with our latest volume of... "Cheers and Jeers!"
This week, I throw a glove in the air to celebrate KB3 and the Canucks callups this week, while Timmy T and Ronny Mac need to learn to shut the hell up.

A lovely scene from the Canucks last win at Xcel, almost a year ago.
Mikael Samuelsson scored and the Canucks had 14 total shots.

Game Day Recon: Game #54 - Canucks @ Wild
As the saying goes, they don't play these games on paper. If they did, this game would be an absolute blowout for the Vancouver Canucks. They lead, if not dominate, in every relevant statistical category over the Minnesota Wild, and their underlying numbers are far superior as well...
Sadly, they DON'T play these games on paper. And that's a good thing for the Wild, because they are beating the odds and have actually won enough hockey games to remains in the top-8 in the West. For now.

You gotta feel good for Byron Bitz after two hellish years of surgery and recovery.
You gotta feel bad for the "professional" photog who took this picture. Seriously, centre the damn thing!

Game #53 Preview - Music City Makeover

In their last trip to Nashville, the Canucks did a little do-si-do into the Western Conference Final,
thanks entirely to Ryan Kesler. Does Kes still have some Music City Magic left in him?

Game Day Recon: Game #53 - Canucks @ Predators
The Vancouver Canucks return to Nashville for the first time since dispatching the Predators from the second round of the playoffs. The Predators have gone through a bit of a transformation this year, lighting the lamp like never before. Meanwhile the Canucks have been coasting on minimal effort of late, yet are still managing to win games and pick up points. Will the Predators' change in philosophy be enough to knock the Canucks down a peg? Or can the Canucks stumble their way to victory again?

M.I.A. is angry. And so am I. But she's gonna get a stern talking-to by some TV exec
over this insignificant act. US Network TV - where this is offensive, but blowing someone up is awesome.

Today I continue my weekly feature of me venting and raging on stupid crap happening with the Canucks, their fans and around the NHL. Two things about feature... 1) It will appear (hopefully) every Monday, and 2) It is blatantly ripped off from a stand-up bit from comedian Craig Anton. On either point, I make no apologies. Enjoy. Or don't.
This week, I give the middle finger to touch-up icing, the Canucks winning (HUH?!) and the tantalizing tease of hockey in the Pacific Northwest.
