Game Day Recon: Game #62 - Canucks @ Devils
The Canucks and the Red Wings played last night, and it was arguably the game of the season for both clubs. They put on the type of hockey-playing clinic that you want to show non-hockey fans and say, "See? THIS is how the game should be played. THIS is how good our game is."
Indeed.
And 24 hours later, the Canucks play the New Jersey Devils. /sad trombone.

Burrows and the Canucks had a rough go the last time they were in Motown.
Tonight, they have an upgraded lineup. Plus, they won't face the best player in the league.

Game Day Recon: Game #61 - Canucks @ Red Wings
It's a clash of the top two teams in the Western Conference as the Canucks travel to the Motor City tonight. Detroit and Vancouver go head to head at the Joe, with a streak and bragging rights on the line. There's more than just bragging rights on the line tonight though. There's also power and prestige and fame and first round draft picks and an immediate bye to the Stanley Cup Final, and a trip to Disneyland, and $10 million US to each player on the winning team.
So yeah, it's a big game.

Super dreamy Alex Edler scores the shootout winner against Pekka Rinne in their last game in Nashville.
It's safe to say that Canucks fans have had enough of the shootout though.

Game Day Recon: Game #60 - Canucks @ Predators
I'm sure the stat-nerds would love to tell you that the Nashville Predators, based on their awful possession numbers, are outstaying their welcome in the hunt for home-ice advantage. But the fact remains that the Preds have already functionally guaranteed themselves a playoff spot, and are a legit powerhouse in the Western Conference. They score goals, they have an enviable defence and one of the best goalies in the league. While it seems like it should be a given to simply write off the Predators, they're a leading team in the West, playing in an insanely tough division.
And the Vancouver Canucks should be worried about tonight's game, because the Preds have proven that they are legit.

A Boba Fett Canucks mask?! Uh..... AWESOME!
Sorry, nerds, the bidding has ended. It sold for $150!

Alain Vigneault is angry. And so am I. We don't understand the kicking rule.
Actually we're both just confused. But I'm calmer than him. And he gets to yell at the refs.

Today I continue my weekly feature of me venting and raging on stupid crap happening with the Canucks, their fans and around the NHL. Two things about feature... 1) It will appear (hopefully) every Monday (this week, Tuesday!), and 2) It is blatantly ripped off from a stand-up bit from comedian Craig Anton. On either point, I make no apologies. Enjoy. Or don't.
This week, I have the following items disallowed because of a distinct kicking motion: Anonymous player polls, non-flex schedules in the NHL, spending time with my children and racist puns.
