This game had all the indications of a "trap game." The home team coming off a long road trip, after a big win over bitter rivals, just before the Christmas break, against a team that they should beat, with the greatest awards event ever of all time happening during the game... The list could go on. But the Canucks stuck to their guns, overcame some adversity, and earned the two points they should have earned in a 2-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets.
Read past the jump for a quick postgame recap so you can get back to basking in the 2013 Shapys afterglow, b.

It's been another successful stretch of games for the Vancouver Giants, as they went 3-1-1-0 over their past 5 games, but saw an 11-game point streak come to an end at the hands of the division rival Victoria Royals. This run of success has vaulted the Giants into a tie for 7th in the WHL's Western Conference with Eric Comrie and the Tri-City Americans. Their total of 37 points would also put them 5th in the East, and represents an 8 point gap between them and the final playoff spot.
The news gets better too, as we now have some #fancystats that seem to indicate that the Giants are for real.

Carter Popoff leads a resurgent Giants team in scoring.
After a week long hiatus, the Sea-to-Sky Boner Report is back!
Since we last left them, things have been going well for the Giants. They haven't lost a game in regulation since November 9th, and that was against the powerhouse Edmonton Oil Kings. They're 5-1-3-1 in their past 10 games, and now sit 4 points up on the 9th place Prince George Cougars for the final playoff spot in the WHL's Western conference. They took 3 of 4 points this past weekend from the Cougars too, and with two games in hand look to be solidifying their grip on a playoff spot.

Well after that dog's breakfast of a game in New York yesterday, we can probably forgive Canucks fans that decided to say "to hell with this", and do something more productive with their Sunday morning than watch Vancouver play a second consecutive morning game against a bottom-feeder in the worst division in the NHL. And let's be honest, anyone who missed this game missed essentially nothing. Aside from a bizarre sequence in the 2nd when 3 goals were scored in 37 seconds, it wasn't a very eventful game.
So if you're just waking up now, and it's 4 in the afternoon, you can be thankful that your friends at Canucks Army appreciate you so much that we watched the
spreadsheets entire game and put this handy recap together just for you. Now read the damn thing so our work doesn't go to waste.
