It's an off day. Drance is off. Charron is off. Filipovic and Angus were both last seen runing around downtown with horse heads on.
The Canucks are off.
Here I am, though, fresh in from the pouring rain, with a collection of fun, evening reading; there's chatter about the coach, about the lineup and a touch of banter.

Is that Cam Charron?
I needed a break. You may have noticed, but my name hasn't appeared here in nearly two weeks. That wasn't really intentional, it just worked out that way.
It turns out, I really needed a break.
Yes, I still watched the games, I still kept track of the chances, of how the team was doing even as my eyes were getting annoyed; it couldn't be that bad, could it?
Then I didn't even watch the last two. Partly, life intervened, but mostly, I just couldn't face it. I knew both games would be dire. Columbus and Minnesota? The Canucks have been playing dull enough hockey as it is. Two games against two of the NHL's dullest, on the road? Come on.
I also knew that I'd be going to a Predators game in the coming days, that that game was likely to be a snoozer.
So I said, you owe it to yourself to check out some different things.

There it is, in all its screen-capped glory, thanks to Harrison "H-dog" Mooney.
On Hockey Night in Canada this past Saturday, the specifics from the NHL's latest realignment proposal was reported to the public. It would mark a return to a grouping that the Canucks had been in for most of the first half of their NHL life, and the re-born Smythe Division will be rather straightforward when it comes to travel.
Before the Canucks were shunted into the Pacific Division in 1993, the franchise had played for more than a decade in a division that featured Calgary, Edmonton, LA and Winnipeg. (The Sharks were members for their first two seasons in the league.)

You don't play? You bike!
Somewhat delayed today folks - got caught up earlier and Drance is still trekking home. But never fear, here's some fun late-evening reading for you...
And no, it's not all about Jannik Hansen.
Jannik Hansen teaches us how we see what we want to believe

So what did Jannik Hansen do?
What did you see?
And are you being rational?
