The Wolves returned to Chicago from their extended West Coast sojourn this week. After spending a few days at home they'll be setting off on the road again for Texas and Oklahoma. 

Getting 3 of 4 points in Abbotsford was seen as a good return for the team, as they continue to push towards taking the Midwest division title and possibly finishing 2nd in the Western conference.

Their man advantage was finally an advantage, but it wasn't quite enough to power the Chicago Wolves home from Abbotsford on Friday night.

Scoring goals on the powerplay has been a struggle all season for the Wolves, but their two-game Fraser Valley series was truly exceptional. Chicago's league-worst powerplay exploded for three goals against the Abbotsford Heat on Friday, nearly pushing them to a win.

Chicago Wolves Gamer - Recap and (some) data

The Wolves roamed into Abbotsford on Thursday and accomplished something they'd been unable to do all season - grab a come-from-behind 3rd period win.

Jordan Schroeder led the way for Chicago with a pair of 2nd period goals, just 25 seconds apart, that put the Wolves into the lead. Playing in front of all the Canucks' brass, the young Minnesotan was named the game's first star.

Tonight and on Friday the Chicago Wolves will roll into Abbotsford for their second visit to the lower mainland this season. I recently spoke with Chicago based sports-writer Paul Latour about the Crimson and Gold’s season so far. If you like what you read, follow him on Twitter twitter here.
