With the NHL embarking upon its 2+ week Olympic break, the Canucks have sent Kellan Lain, Frankie Corrado, Yann Sauve, and Pascal Pelletier all back to Utica in order to continue playing and developing over that time. If you're coming here looking for answers as to what on earth has happened with the big club, those 4 being in the lineup are probably a good place to start.

But that's not what this is about. This post is about the Utica Comets, who - with their incoming reinforcements - went up against the Rockford IceHogs on Sunday afternoon. The two teams engaged in a very exciting back-and-forth contest, and with the lack of NHL action to cover, we figured we'd recap it here.

Despite the Jensen Train stepping it up, the Comets were sent to OT, and ultimately a loss, due to a rather questionable call.

Welcome to this week's Comets Militia Week Prospect Report. With the extensive number of injuries and call-ups we've seen the Canucks endure over the past however many weeks, the regular everyday analysis on this platform has quickly become very Comets-centric (which isn't necessarily a good sign for the team's chances of accumulating wins).

With that being said, there's still a bunch of things to look at and discuss in this week's report regarding players that haven't had the spotlight shined on them yet. You can read on for more on that, and if you'd like day-to-day updates on the team's prospects moving forward, make sure you follow me on twitter at @nuckprospects!

Welcome to this week's Canucks Weekly Prospect Report.  In the past 7 days since we last looked at the landscape, the Comets earned their first point in nearly three weeks thanks to the #JensenTrain picking up some serious steam. Down in the Major Junior circuit there are a number of good success stories, while the NCAA is proving to be a boon; I wouldn't be surprised to see 1 or 2 NCAA players sign with the team this offseason.
