The summer has quietly arrived. The weather is nice, people are looking for things to do, and unfortunately, watching hockey isn't one of their options. We've got lots of offseason stuff to talk about, but no games to watch. Of course, that's a first world problem; there are much more unfortunate things out there - such as the thousands of Canadian families who aren't able to afford to eat, especially in the months after holiday donations dry up.

Enter Five Hole For Food; an organization that aims to solve the latter via a solution for the former.

This is a series counting down the top-10 pending UFAs. It will be posted across the Nation Network over the next month! Enjoy!

When the Nashville Predators acquired Cody Franson and Mike Santorelli in February, everybody thought it was a match made in heaven. After all, the team was getting two quality players that they were familiar with, without giving up any present assets. Theoretically, it was the type of move that should've taken a good team to greatness, but instead, it was a bust.

David Poile was quick to admit that the team was forcing a square peg into a round hole. After all, the Predators are very adament about following shot handedness with their defencemen, and they already had three quality righties. As such, Franson didn't recieve the necessary playing time, didn't fit in, and will now hit free agency. But what will he command?

TOP-10 UFA COUNTDOWN: #7 - Christian Ehrhoff

This is a series counting down the top-10 pending UFAs. It will be posted across the Nation Network over the next month! Enjoy!

When Christian Ehrhoff signed a ten year contract with the Buffalo Sabres in June of 2011, a lot of people were puzzled, and a little annoyed. Why was the NHL allowing these long-term, front-loaded contracts? Why was a 28 year old signing one that he would theoretically be able to play through? Why, even with the scheme, did such a talented player take so little without testing the market, from a team he became part of just hours before?

Fast forward to today. This would theoretically be the end of year four, but the Sabres are about a year removed from buying out the middle-aged German. Not only that, but the Pittsburgh Penguins, his new team, feel inclined to go with other internal options, meaning Ehrhoff will suit up for his third team in as many years.

The Vancouver Canucks addressed a bunch of fans concerns at their Summer Summit today. Whether it was the Heritage Classic, Mike Gillis' talks with Roberto Luongo, or John Tortorella giving an idea of what he'll bring to the team as head coach, the night has been filled with valuable information. Information that I'll leave to the regular's here at Canucks Army to deconstruct.

To me, the most important news of all? The Canucks announced that Pavel Bure's #10 will be raised to the rafters of Rogers Arena at some point next season, becoming the fourth player in team history to recieve the honour.
